Socially Engaged Mixed Media Artist & Educator
Eibhlá½·n Göppert
I am an Irish multi-disciplinary artist based in Romania, working with wood, papercut art, light, and sound. My work explores migration, belonging, and the stories we carry when we leave home. As a member of the Irish diaspora, I draw on both personal and contemporary migration narratives.
Recently, my practice has become more socially engaged, working with communities to give them a voice. Through participatory projects and community dialogue, I create spaces for reflection on migration, identity, and displacement. Blending traditional craft with contemporary methods, I use materials like wood and light to evoke both physical and emotional aspects of migration, fostering empathy and connection in an ever-changing world.
